Ok now boys...If you had to reduce your experiencee to ONE memory...what would it be??

would it be missing family? ... a thought that came to you as you were saving your ass???...

If there was ONE Memory or Phrase that could be an example for your life..

WHAT WOULD IT BE??

none are right or wrong..and you can submit more than one answer.............

makes you nervous to think that you could answer this..doesnt it?

dont think about it and have a great day~~ hehehe. lets see how many answer This one~~!!

ONE memory

A little tough to do one memory.
With me it's a toss up between watching both sides of the aircraft as we hovered over the trees in an emergency extract to pick up a Project Delta team under fire.......feeling very vulnerable! Or..... standing watch on the fenceline (near TET '68) in a fighting hole on the Phu Bai perimeter as a member of HMM-165's reactionary squad, with my trusty M-14. Didn't like being a grunt very much!

Probably lying to myself time after time, telling myself that everything was going to be OK, when I knew deep down that it wouldn't be "OK".

From that I learned "...To be honest to yourself before all else..." as the most important lesson from 'Nam.

Last thoughts

Spinning rapidly to the jungle 10 miles out of Nha Trang in an CH34C with no tail pylon!!! Thought for sure after WWII, Korea etc this damn sure is the end!!! And my ex wife (in divorce process) will get my insurance. Had almost the same feeling when I was boosted over an embankment by an 8 in japanese artillery shell , 6 May 1945 on Okinawa. Have always repeated "This to shall pass: question, how & when??? SF PM
