Gentlemen,
I volunteer at the Vintage Flying Museum in Fort Worth Texas as the Crew Chief on our B-17G "Chuckie". I recently purchased an R1820 engine core off of eBay not knowing which dash number R1820 it was. The price was right so it was worth the gamble. Well the gamble didn't pay off, because the B-17 uses an R1820-97 and this turned out to be a -84 which is used on the UH-34. Wouild you guys be interested in or know someone who might be interested in an R1820 engine core (no cylinders) for any of your projects or possibly as a display engine in a museum? I'm only asking $1500.00 (negotiable) for it. Just so there is no confusion, I own the engine, not the Vintage Flying Museum.
