I have been going to guns shows in the southern Minnesota area and have had no luck finding the .45 that I qualified with in the Marine Corps. Does anyone have any ideas where I might look?
Find a gun shop in your area, most FFL dealers will order a firearm for cost, shipping, taxes and $10-30.00 handling fee.
Colt and Springfield Armory both sell a near exact copy of the
GM1911A1. If you are really going to shoot it, I would suggest that you purchase a higher end model w/better sights, finish etc.
I have a Springfield Armory 'loaded model' and a Para-Ordnance single stack, they are both very accurate and reliable.
Avoid off brands.
45 cal
i have a springfield model great weapon almost the exact ...
look into one you'll be happy
M1911A1 .45 Pistol
I have a Springfield GI 1911A1 and love it. Had my gunsmith do a trigger job on it and it shoots like a dream. You don't need all the bells and whisles or pay an arm and a leg. Go look at one of these and make up your own mind.

Colt makes a replace of there model 1911 but it is custom order and takes a very long time to get and sells for over $1000.00 Auto-Ordnance makes one that I like better only it says U S Army on it and MSRP is $581.00 dealer coast is about $429.00 check with your local Gun shop if they don’t have it in stock most dealer will be glad to order one for you are you can call Auto-Ordnance Consumer service at 508 795-3919 for a dealer close to you.

Colt M1991A1
I like my Colt M1991A1, newer version (1991) of the old one. It handles better and shoots better in my opinion, yet looks very much like the old one.
