My husband, Paul Davis, while serving with HMM 265 on Feb 26 & 27, 1969, distinguished himself and was awarded The Navy Cross. However, because of a "disagreement" with his superior-the superior pulled the award papers from his jacket. My husband was killed in an airplane crash, but I would like to get the record corrected. I only have the narrative for the award which describes his action and my husband's note which indicated the document was declassified in May, 1993. Does anyone have any recommendations as to how to proceed with this endeavor? Any help would be appreciated. Sandy Davis
