I have a few questions for anyone in NAM after November 67. Where was MAG 11 and what kind of A/C did they fly? When did the first USMC Cobras get there? I met a wannabe yesterday and think he was full of BS.

Thanks

Mike Miller-VMO-2 66/67

MAG-11 Da Nang Dec 1967
H&MS-11 3 TA-4F, 1 C-117D
VMCJ-1 8 EF-10B, 9 RF-4B. 4 EA-6A
VMFA-122 14 F-4B
VMF(AW)-235 16 F-8E
VMA(AW)-242 11 A-6A
(Source: "U.S. Marines in Vietnam - Fighting the North Vietnamese 1967", Appendix F "Distribution of Aircraft, Fleet Marine Force, Pacific, December 1967")

When did the first USMC Cobras get there?

"Four AH-1G 'Huey Cobras' were introduced into this squadron on 10 April 1969" (VMO-2 Command Chronology April 1969). VMO-2 was part of MAG-16 based at Marble Mountain.
