To Whom it may concern,

I was a Sgt. with Golf Battery 3/12 at Gio Linh during the heavy fighting . I got to Gio Linh on the 21st of March-1967 and stayed until around the middle of May 1967. We were a 105 Battery. The Guns and Gun Crews came in by Hilos on the 20th of March-1967 from Ship to Shore at Gio Linh LZ.. I came the next day with trucks filled with supplies on the 21st of March-1967.

On or around the last of March 1967 or 1st week of April-1967 a Chopper went down close to the DMZ area at Gio Linh. I was the Sgt. in charge to take a couple squads of marines and a 5 ton with a 50 cal mount for extra support. Well we all got hit pretty bad that day while the chopper was being Retrieved and Pilot Rescued. I believe we lost a couple of Marines and took a lot of casualties also.

My concern is that the Pilots are okay today and doing well. I am not doing very well with the situation as a hole. I remember every day going over to resuce the chopper, so it does bother me. That is why I am asking any help that you are able and allowed to release.

I will be more the Happy to Donate to your Organization, but I know I can not join. I am a member or the 3rd MARDIV ASSC.

Thank You Sincerly and "Semper-Fi".......................
