I ran across your site while looking up some information on my father, Gary Denton. He was a member of the Purple Foxes. I am not sure when he served. I think it was sometime between '68-'71. He was from just outside of Gainesville, Georgia. He was a pilot. After Vietnam, he started back to school in Atlanta, Georgia and flew Reserves out of the Atlanta NAS at Dobbins AFB. He was killed in a "Jesus" bolt malfunction in 1973, a month and a half after I was born.
I have some knowldge of my father, but not much and am sending this email to see if you might have served with him or might find some one who did.
Thanks for you help and I really enjoy your web site.
Mike Denton

Mike: You may be able to find some info on your father from Allyn Hinton marinepatches@aol.com . The crew chief on that fatal flight was Sgt. Dwayne Miller, who served in HML-167 with Allyn Hinton. Semper Fi, Jim
Sorry to report that Dwayne Miller was killed in a crash shortly after his return to the states while on I & I duty with the reserves. If there is anyone else from HML-167 that you want to find just let me know. We have information on over 500 of the 950 Marines that served in HML-167 in Vietnam.
