I was in a helicopter crash approx June of 1968 coming off of a
lz on a hill around Khe San where 2nd bat 4th Marines were at.
Taking mail out to the troops with a pay officer. After the first LZ, we lifted up and the wind turbulents moved us around pretty
well and the rotor blades got into the tree tops.
We went back down and hit left nose first aand rolled to be on the left side. All got out. I was last in the compartment.
The door was above me. Got out and probably40 yards up the hill and she blew and shortly after that, machine gun rounds were going off. I was originally a squad leader for fox 2/4 but was taking mail out that day. Was on a UH 34D I believe.
Anyone trace this incident? It isn't in my medical file at the VA.
No body got hurt but a little shook up. They checked us out on board the ship . We were BLT and I believe it was the Iwo Jima or Princeton.

I was in a crash
If my memory serves me correctly, and it usually does, it was with HMM-362 (YL-8), Capt Champion was the HAC and Capt Rod Bell the CoPilot. The crew chief was Cpl Tim Wilson. I am not sure who the gunner was. I remember the incident.
