The Marine Aviation Cadet or MARCAD program was operational from the late 1950s to the mid 1960s. Hundreds (thousands?) of Marine enlisted and civilians with some college became Marine pilots and officers. What was the highest career rank achieved by a former Marcad? Who did it? Etc.
Re: Highest Ranking MARCAD
Hi Norm,
Good question.... be a good question posted in the Ready Room on the MARCAD site also.
I believe there was ONE MARCAD who made full COL. A jet jock who (I think) flew with the Blue Angels. Contact Roger Henry for more details.

Tom Knowles
MARCAD 13-64
Major General Clyde Vermilyea, Col. Ed Seiffert, and Col.Tom Hewes to name a few.
K.D.
Generals?
I know my classmate and friend Mike Severson (Brow) made Colonel. How many made star rank, and how many stars?
Wrong!
Tom Hewes was a NAVCAD.
Col Jim Pruden was a NavCad...
Bear Adams, 14-62, ended up a general.
Anyone Know of Any More?
OK. Wayne T. Adams (Marcad Class 14-62) made Major General. Anyone know of any others?:)
I believe Bill Scheffler made Colonel.
