Hello, my name is Tom Farris. I was at Dong Ha in Utility Section at the time the ammo dump went up in September and destroyed the Dong Ha base MAG 16 Unit, when the Dong Ha base went up. Request any info you may have on the ammo dump being blowed up or any time after that, possible pictures or names of anyone that was there at that time. My email addy is

Seems to me that the FIRST time it went up was in early September of '67.
There were about 3 of us that were in the fuel pits refueling after some work just to the West of Dong Ha.
All of us managed to get our birds disconnected except one and he took off with the fuel hose attached. He must have gone a half mile until the hose broke... I thought he was going to trail the whole durned thing with us. As it was the pump had stayed attached to the hose.
That was one heck of a good 4th of July show. Seems the fuel pits never went up but that was about the only place that didn't.
