My dad was an enlisted marine during the vietnam war. He was a translator, and part of the CAP. He was also a Navy Acheivement Medal winner. When I look in the records though, it says that his job specialty code was 6234, which is a radar attack systems technician. Obviously the two aren't one in the same, and there has only been one person with his name in the marines, so I don't think it was someone else. I have no clue why these don't match up. If anyone has any idea, could you please help me out?
Thanks

There as a relisting of the MOS' at sometime after Vietnam. Some jobs were added while others were eliminated. This caused a renumbering of the classifications. There is the Ole Corps, the not so Ole Corps and the new Corps. Your Dad and we are in the not so Ole Corps -- smile
