My name is Allan Cruz, Col USMC Ret. I am trying to determine if Col Gomez was the same Andre Gomez that was the CO Btry B 3d Defense Bn WWII Guadalcanal 1942.

I am working with a former Marine, "Mike" Malone, PFC USMC 1941 -1945 from 3d Defense Bn. He recently suffered from a stroke. I am helping his family put together Mike's memoirs. Mike writes of a Thanksgiving Dinner in Nov 1942 on Guadalcanal and mentions his Btry commander, Capt Andre Gomez.

I'd appreciate any update information on Col Gomez or a point of contact.
