Thanks very much for the photo release/transmission. I transcribed the caption and contacted one of the people who posted a comment, Mr. Rogers. Have sent this all on to the museum curator.
Appreciate the access to the photo and will certainly give credit where due. I would also like to confirm the identity, rank and unit of the Marine posing in the photo and his photographer. If they are available and interested, I would like to hear from them and discuss a meeting to get their story on the record for the Marine Corps Oral History project.
I would certainly welcome any and all info on this aircraft from anybody who has info or photos, to put on file and eventual display. The aircraft is currently without a tail and under repair due to an accident where a POV crashed through our gate and severed the tail boom. If I secure permission to release photos of the aircraft as it is, I will be more than happy to forward copies to you for posting on your website, and will keep you up to date on her progress.
