Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum
Hi, Brook,
Following are two groups of helos and their info. In the first group, I have physically inspected the aircraft and photo-confirmed their BuNos. The second group lists what we have on our museum roster but which I have not had a chance to physically inspect for myself or photo confirm.

BELL AH-1J SEACOBRA 157784
BELL HTL-4 (TH-13M) SIOUX (ARMY NAME) 142394*
BOEING/VERTOL CH-46E SEA KNIGHT 154803
PIASECKI HUP-2 (H-25B) RETRIEVER 128596
SIKORSKY CH-53A SEA STALLION 153304
SIKORSKY HRS-3 (H-19E) CHICKASAW 130252*The HTL-4 is a complete restoration with a completely new, custom-made plexiglass canopy bubble. Due to the high cost of the material and its fragility in UV sunlight, it is only on outdoor, public display on special occasions such as the 2008 Miramar Airshow or Open Cockpit weekends held during several weeks in the summer. However, I do have extensive photos of when it has been on display this past summer.

Ron is looking for personal information that you could/would share about these particular aircraft if you flew them. Please contact him via his email address above, or post any pertinent information as a reply.

Brook,
154803, CH-46E was the Phrog that Gerry Berry was driving when they pulled the American Ambassador from the roof of the US Embassy in Saigon during Operation Frequent Wind, evacuation of Saigon, 1975. You'll remember it was in Pensacola with us in 2002 and our leader, Slick, approved a green paint job for our viewing pleasure! Flown then by HMM-774 XO, Major Andrew Ryan, who was 6 months or so younger than the bird!!
CH-53A 153304 Came to HMT-301 in mid 1975 from the bone yard with only about 375 hrs on her. She was in Tustin all of that time until she was designated to be a static display in 1987.

157784
If memory serves me, 157784 went from Bell to RVN to Oki. Reason I believe I remember that aircraft is when I pumped with HMLA 267 Det A we had a snake that we couldn't hang ordnance on one of the stations- something about uncommanded jettison.
