Does anyone know what happened to the prototype CH-53As buno 151613 and 151614; and the A model bailed to Sikorsky for many years to prototype and test new mods, buno 153718? 718 was photographed flying with three blades.

3 blades

Do you have pictures of the CH-53 with three blades? Love to see that.

FYI

YCH-53A Sea Stallion 1964 = USMC assault transport; v: 200+/x/0; ff: 10/14/64. Demonstrated ruggedness of design by flying with three of six main rotor blades removed, also performed a barrel-roll. POP: 2 [151613/151614].

I think the example in the German Museum will be one of the locally built CH-53's.
151613 was struck off Navy charge on the 25th of July 1967 at Stratford, probably scrapped.
153718 and 719 were both on trials with Sikorsky. 153718 was last seen in use at NAS Norfolk as a deck training aid during 1999.
719 crashed in 1981.
