Subject: Photo 1607 comment / HAWAII MUSEUM OF FLYING

Dear Pop-a-Smoke,

My name is Sgt. Bogdan [USMC/0352]. I work with Brad on the aircraft and all the other gear (we have tons and tons of it) here in Hawaii Museum of Flying. Let me just say this, we are in desperate need of funding, no one, NOT THE NAVY, NOT MARINES, not even the city supports us. Me and Brad have to get side jobs (I’m active-duty in Kaneohe Bay) to pay the monthly rent for the spaces, electricity etc. If You could spread the word, we would greatly appreciate it.

We have several different aircraft including:

P3C ORION (USN) 1980’s

3x A-4 SKYHAWKS (USN & USMC) Vietnam & modern

1x F-4 FANTOM (USMC) Vietnam era

UH-1H Huey (USA) Vietnam era

We also have a F-8 Crusader on the way to us (in near mint condition, no engine) coming to us on a USN Aircraft Carrier from California (sorry can’t disclose the name). We a couple of dozen Korea and Vietnam era, 2 ½-ton trucks (Deuce-n-a-half). Jeeps, helicopter parts, couple dozen of complete and ready to go flight suits w/all their gear + helmets (with squadrons patches and stickers). We have 2x M60 Machine Guns, belts of ammo (non-firing), World’s Largest Fire Truck (USAF) can hold over 6,000 gallons of water! Yeah it is a beast.

But going back on the subject. Gentleman, if there is anything You can tell us, show us, point us in the right direction we would both MOST GREATLY appreciate it. We have tours available, we organize “military” field style-condition fundraisers for kids/tourists etc. Anything else we have no clue what to do to raise any money, and keeping this place alive is a hassle of its own.

Respectfully, Sgt. Bogdan
