I found the following website and order a custom painted UH-34D model in HMM-363 markings to commemorate YZ-77.

YZ-77 was shot down on May 14, 1967. Mike Tripp (Tripper) was crewchief and the pilot was Dan Smithson; I was the co-pilot).

The model has a 16 inch long fuselage and a main rotor diameter of 18 inches.

I ordered the model shown on the website as a white-top VIP S-58. I contacted the company which is located in England through their website and asked if they could custom paint the model inHMM-363 markings completed with the Lucky Lion on the nose. The representative assured me they could. The custom hand-painting added about $50 to the model cost.

I sent in several pictures of HMM-363 aircraft form the spring of 1967 and specified how I wished the model marked. I also sent a close up image of the nose art for the artist.

The models are actually hand carved and hand-painted in the Philippines. Before they shipped the model to me they sent pictures for my approval. There were a couple of minor issues with the details (no exhaust stacks and YZ 77 in large white markings on the side of the fuselage) which I asked them to correct.

The model arrived in beautiful condition and is extremely well-built. The main rotor hub is metal and the main rotor blades have metal pins to slide them into the main rotor hub.
