Flying Leatherneck Museum

City of Irvine and Great Park

As we commemorate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, we are excited to be welcoming military aircraft, including this Corsair, back to the Great Park.

The Corsair is recognized as the best fighter in World War II, and this night-capable fighter-bomber is one of 40 aircraft that will be on display at the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum — the only museum dedicated to United States Marine Corps aviation. It is scheduled to open at the Cultural Terrace in 2026.

More than a tribute to the past; the museum serves as a reaffirmation of our commitment to remember and honor our military heroes, including those who landed on the beaches of Normandy in France on this day in 1944. We will never forget the bravery they showed and the sacrifices they made. Thank you to our WWII veterans and all veterans.
