This was the first place I was sent in the bush to meet my company Golf 2/4. It took two weeks to get us inserted onto the hill because of heavy activity from the enemy. It was probrabally when this photo was taken around April 18th,1969. WQe were choppered over to Neville a few days later. -Submitted by: Edward J Foley [efg24@verizon.net] 2006-04-16

This was my first time in the bush. I was with Charlie Co. 1st Bn. 4th Marines. We relieved Golf 2/4 in May 1969. L-Z Catapult is where I saw combat for the first time. The chopper I came in on started to go up befor everyone could get off. The L-Z was taking incomming. I fell on the guy in front of me. Some Marine came out of noware and pulled me to a stack of logs laying to one side of the L-Z. I saw this picture on this web site 15 days ago. I look at it every day. -Submitted by: Nicholas Tartaglia [1969vncv@sbcglobal.net] 2006-04-28

lived with hedler at mag39. i remember well when he got back to base after high tailing (all were ordered) it up one of the many mountains in the area to be rescued by another 46 via a hover rescue at 0h dark thirty. Hed should have received the heart for wounds sustained in the action. Thanks to this great pic. which brings a flood of memories, we're in touch again. The ship belongs to squadron 262. It's got their tiger on the tail. -Submitted by: thomas bausemer [pisc373@yahoo.com] 2009-06-09
