I lived in a hooch just off the N to S road from the hangers to the north of camp. I remember a Sgt. Gunther (spelling?) and a Gonzolas, another Marine from Massachusettes Maybe, Whitaker (Maybe Whittier?), a marine named Waite and a Martinez. The bunker diagnally behind us took a hit during TET. We had a short timer in the beginning that might have been Heshy(Heshie?) who would go after rats with his bat. They might remember running out the front door when rockets went off around us and I ran into an exploding glare and they turned and went out the back door. Anybody out there to recall more? Thanks

      Whittier wore glasses

I got to H&MS just before Christmas of 68. There was a Whittier in the Squadron office.
