  • 8 Years at Scarface

I arrived at Scarface in mid December of 1997. I spent 8 years there in Avionics and left the Corps and Scarface the 27th day of March, 2005. I deployed to Okinawa "3" times, 1997, 2002, 2003, the last one was after being extended over there just before Iraqi Freedom kicked off. I did a westpac with the 13th MEU in 2000 (reenlisted in Bahrain) and finally deployed to Iraq in August of 2004. I know it's a little unusual to stay with one unit for so long. But that's the way it goes for me. I have had the pleasure of working with the finest men and women that our great country has to offer. And enjoyed every bit of it! You never really appreciate that until you leave. Now I find myself at a crossroads, so to speak. I have decided to reenlist once again, after a 2 year vacation, and hopefully I'll be able to serve once again on the glorious west coast. I have realized that there is a chance that I may return to Scarface and possibly go on my 6th deployment with them. I would love nothing more than to do just that. So here's to you Scarface, and hopefully, I'll see you again soon.
